Vintage Chinese chess set in wood case and hand carved clay pieces.The case has a red veneer with the dragon and phoenix in gold, and the characters represent longevity, fortune and prosperity.The other side of the case has a print drawing of women playing chess in their traditional gowns.The chess pieces are hand carved in clay and kiln dried.The King measures 2 tall.The board with 1-3/8 squares and an overall playing board of 13x14The wood case has a brass hook and eye brass clasp with ornate brass corner plates (nailed in). It measures 7x13x3-7/8 closedGood condition. The chess pieces are in excellent condition.
